Continuing its drive to fight against drug menace, a jointteam of District Police of PS Surankote and Army Romeo Force laid special nakas at different places on mughal road within its jurisdiction.

 In the intervening night of 1st and 2nd july, Surankote Police recovered 53 Kg of Poppy Straw in total at three different checking points and arrested three persons as well

Arrested persons were identified as Surinder Pal Singh S/OJarnal Singh R/O Sidhwan khurd , Tehsil Jagraion, District Ludhiana, Punjab who was driving a vehicle bearing Reg.no PB10CV 8535 from whom 38 Kg Poppy strawwas recovered.

Second person was identified as Mohd Zahid S/O Mohd TahirR/O Waspura, Tehsil Maler Kotala, District Sangroor, Punjab who was driving vehicle bearing Reg.no PB08CX from whom 03 Kg Poppy Straw was recovered. Another person was identified as Mohd Alyas S/O Mohd Rashid R/O Maler Kotala District Sangroor Punjab who was driving vehicle bearing reg. No. PB13X 9382 from whom 12 Kg Poppy Straw was recovered.

In this connection FIR No 164/2019 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act,,FIR No165/2019 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act and FIR No 166/2019 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act have been registered and further investigation of the cases have been taken up.
